Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy Pre/Post Prostate Surgery

Prostate cancer treatment can be a physically and mentally challenging time for men and their families. Prostatectomy is a highly effective treatment however men can often be left with symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction such as;

  • Urinary incontinence e.g with cough, sneezing, rushing to the toilet, when standing up

  • Urinary frequency

  • Erectile dysfunction

Pelvic floor physiotherapy is recommended pre and post prostatectomy to help regain control and function of these muscles. By improving pelvic floor muscle function (including strength, endurance and coordination) and external urethral sphincter strength, these symptoms can be well managed and usually completely resolved.

Regardless of where you are in your prostate journey, the team at Flow Pelvic Physio will provide you with an individualised management plan to help you to improve your symptoms, regain confidence and get you back to doing the things you love, without fear of leakage or worsening symptoms.
